I have received a few questions about some of the 1/48 tactics cards, I thought the answers may be of interest...
> *On US first division*
> - 48W0327 The value of short is of 3 instead of 1 for us m 1 carabine
> Can you confirm the short value of 1 ?
yes, sorry about that, it is a typo, should be S1
> - 48W0327 The value of Hard for bazooka is of 5 instead of 6 (M6A1)
> Can you confirm the Hards value of 6 ?
Nope, the correct value is that on the card (5)
This values is a variable that reflects not only the standard average weapon or munition effectiveness, but the specific individual characteristic of that particular weapon, including field modifications, as well as the proficiency of the crew in using it.
It also include other considerations such as how easy it was to get one, how many there were available, how did that system perform in the particular theater and so on... for example the same weapon used by a DAK character could be unreliable because it did not work well in a sand environment, but not so in Northern Europe.
> - 48W0328 The value of Hard for bazooka is of 5 instead of 6 (M6A1)
> Can you confirm the Hards value of 6 ?
Nope, the correct value is that on the card (5), see above
> *On US 101 Airborne*
> - 48W0106 The value of Hard for heat rifle grenade is 6 on the card.
> According the rulebook it is 4 (Heat rifle grenade in page 34 of V&HW
> rulebook) and according the weapon (48W0334) it is of 5
> Which is the good value (4 ; 5 or 6 ) ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
The value on the rulebook is a generic value to use where no other indication is available.
If you use the card 48W0106 the value is H6.
If you use the card 48W0334 the value is H5.
This is because 48W0106 is an elite soldier exceptionally well trained and proficient and has access to the best available equipment. 48W0334 on the other hand is a standard army issue that can be assigned to everyone and therefore relatively less effective.
> - -48W0124 and 48W0125 are a team but with 2 value of Hard
> For 48W0124 , it is 6 like the M6A1.
> For 48W0125 , it is 9 like the M6A9.
> What is the good value (6 or 9 ) ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
if you use only 48W0124 the only ammunition available is the standard H6/S4
if you have the ammo bearer 48W0125 in base to base contact you can choose to use the M6A9 AT round with value H9/S4 instead.
> - 48W0118 The value of max shoot for pistol is of 2 instead of 1 for the
> other pistol (german medic)
> What is the good max number of shoot for a pistol ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
48W0118 value reflects the cumulative effect of the soldier being a faster shooter, better reflexes, better training, well maintained weapon, willingness of using it, etc.
> - 48W0143 (M1918A2 Bar) and 48W0333 (M1918A2 Bar) First card has aim 1 and
> the second card has a suppress value of 2
> Can you say me if it is normal that the same weapon has 2 different values
> according to the unit ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
These differences reflects mainly the style of fight of individual soldiers, as well as the different set-up of the weapon and context. The Airborne BAR 48W0143 on tripod has the permitted Action AIM, while without it has the Move & Fire one instead. This is because Airborne soldiers are on average tougher and more physically fit, but are generally operating with limited supplies. The infantry BAR 48W0333 does not have the Move & Fire Action but has the SF instead reflecting the easy access to more ammo and a different combat doctrine based on a more liberal use of large volumes of fire.
> - 48W0145 (accurized M1 Garand (1) ) This is a good weapon. However,
> according to our test a value of 2 is better (1 for the rifle and 1 for the
> sniper training).
> Can you give your opinion on this
This accurized version of the standard M1 rifle allow you to aim better, so when using this weapon your Character's AIM Action value is increased by +1. This is in addition and cumulative with any other card (except a different weapon obviously) so yes, you can use it together with a Sniper training Upgrade card like 48W0345, which would increase your Character's AIM Action value a total of +2. Note however that this card would count toward your maximum limit of allied cards available. The Airborne deck does not have an advanced marksmanship training card because being an elite unit everyone in it has already received an advanced training which is already taken into account in the Character cards.

> I specify that the M1919A4 version was much more stable via its tripod.
> Can you tell me why a better weapon costs less points than the worst
> version weapon ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
The weapons available to the Airborne elite units are generally better quality, better maintained and used by more experienced and better trained crews.
The lower cost represent the relatively larger availability of the weapon for that particular unit, Airborne liked the MGs much better than the BAR and often took more in combat than what would have been their theoretical assignment on paper.

> - 48W0419 The value of Hard for panzerschreck is of 4 instead of 5
> (according page 39 of V&HW rulebook)
> What is the good value (4 or 5 ) ?
the value on the card is correct for that particular card, see above.
The value on the rulebook is a generic value to use where no other indication is available.
> *On German Volksgrenadier*
> - 48W0238 The panzerschreck loader doesn't have the value of the rocket

Correct, that is because he does not carry any different type of ammunition, it only increases the number of rounds that can be fired during a game. He does however have the Spotting ability which is pretty handy to have in a panzerschreck team!
