I have just received this card pack - and being new to the game I have a (probably silly) question. Theodore Bedell has a + symbol (value 1), and Benjamin Wood has (what looks like) a mortar bomb symbol (value 3).
I cannot find what these mean. Any pointers please? Thanks.

Theodore Bedell has a + symbol (value 1) -> He receive an additional AT each turn. Benjamin Wood -> I don't remember the meaning of this symbol [May be, he has 3 mortar mission for the game]

Hi hobgoblin, a wise man once said there are no silly questions, only silly answers... First of all, to use all the cards in the deck, in addition to the core rules you'll need the "1-48TACTIC COMPANY COMMANDER" supplement, if you haven't got that yet you can download it free from 1-48tactic.com/rules.htm#CCv0.1that should clear most of your doubts, but to the specific questions you raise: Theodore Bedell is a Commissioned Officer (red line around the AT value) and has the ADVANCE PLANNING ability, so if you field it you'll get 1 extra AT per turn. Benjamin Wood is also a Commissioned Officer and has the CALL ability, that can be used to call in support fire from off board. The value next to the symbol is the number of dice rolled when doing a Call attempt.
