Hi there
My son and I love this game and have just got the Achtung Panzer rules. There are no outlines for character cards for crew for vehicles, though they are mentioned. Do you have any suggestions or examples for these as they are essential for the game? We play 101st airborne versus Volksgrenadiers. We would love to introduce a tank or two!
We are feeling a bit desperate that the Kickstarter is stalled- we need more cards! We missed the earlier Kickstarters.

Hi Paul, good point about tank Crew, for the moment you can just use any infantry character card, just pretend they have Armor ability. I'll make some free vehicle crew available as soon as possible! Don't worry about the KS, it is normal for campaigns to hie a plateau, but anyway we are restarting it in a new format, following indication against the theaters deck and replacing them with individual faction decks. Hi all (especially Claudio), did you made any progress on vehicle Crews? The idea for "manning" all positions of a vehicle with a character is maybe a great idea, but without crews (cards at least) the idea seems lost... I would propose some generic driver, loader, gunner,... with "general" abilities, and maybe some special "tank aces" for each nation. Did you have made your mind up upon the point values of the vehicles? It may be interesting to play asymetrical games, but placing a M5 Stuart for the same point costs (without the crew) as a Panther is not "really fair". I think the tank rules will be a lot of additonal fun, but without the crews and point values they are not really playable and no, I will not place Chester Brooks at the gunner place of a Wolverine... Very good point.... originally vehicle crew cards were planned as part of the vehicle decks, when we planned to release decks based on theaters of operations... following the feedback from the backers we reorganized the decks on individual factions and vehicle decks were left out (as there was less interest for those) and with them the vehicle crew cards...
We were planning to do the vehicle decks later, again based on theaters of operations as in the original idea, but these will have to wait until all the faction decks we unlocked in the last kickstarter campaign are published...
I could try to do one generic crew and release it as a free print and play teaser, but even this will have to wait until I have a moment free... and that hasn't happened very often lately unfortunately...

Hi Claudio, many thanks for your statement. Sometimes it is maybe better to stay at his roots, so keep going on with infantry cards (and figure of course) and all further things later on. I will concentrate on the Inf then and will complete my US airborne squad next month to 10 men at least - maybe also the bazooka team, but I am not sure. Hopefully you will release further Fallschirmjäger, I really love the "bigger look" compared with the 28mm figures. I am still playing only with the quick start rules, complete rules will follow next month. After that I will take a look at the "higher officer" rules. I think I will stick to this...  And as said allready, it may be better to concentrate on what the game was originally designed for: infantry skirmishes. Concerning the kickstarter: I am not really familar with that "funding system". Will you announce new projects here? Otherwise I think, I would miss them. |
