I am glad we have moved away from Yahoo. Hopefully the kickstarter will meet goals and we can grow our 1-48tactic community.

Really hoping the KS gets funded plus at least a couple of stretch goals unlocked

Indeed! Whatever the funding level there will be expansions, but having them unlocked and funded would be great as it would mean more and faster... Anyway, welcome to the new forum! and don't forget you can choose any avatar you like!

I'm glad for the up-coming choice to buy some of the add-on figures during the KickStarter, rather than having to wait for them to be unlocked as stretch goals (this ought to help to increase the pledge levels for some contributors - including me). Dave

That's great to hear! I've been working on it all weekend to make sure development cost remains within our possibilities and see what the production schedule can realistically support... leaving the heavy weapon packs as unlocked stretch goals I think we should manage to add 4 to 6 more characters per faction... I'm now working out the exact details and check all the poses as these new characters have all been tested using other figures as stand-in until now and I need to make sure there are no dodgy technical issues with putting in production any of them... I hope to add these to the campaign on Tuesday, will send an update as soon as they are live anyway... Keep the feedback coming! Cheers, Claudio

question Claudio, will you be releasing updated cards for the 1st Edition characters? I know that you stated that the old cards will work fine, but the inclusion of the "old" card characters would very quickly expand out peoples forces.

Is this game playable solitaire? Thanks. You can play 1-48 solo if you just evaluate what decision you would make to win with one side and then "switch sides" in your head. But it's certainly not as exciting as playing against a real person because you will never really surprise yourself, you always know what your opponent plan is... it's a good way to learn the game as it will force you to continuously come up with new solutions but it is kind of like saying chess is playable solo (without a computer AI), it's true, but one isn't really playing the game so much as simulating a real game. That said fear not, because we are working on a proper solo version for the game, or actually more than one to be precise! That is because while testing we have found some theater doesn't really make for a particularly enjoyable game for one side (one for all: D-DAY) and it's much more fun as a solo or cooperative game. The enemy actions are controlled by a deck of tactical cards which effectively act as an AI opponent... we have done quite a bit of work on it and it's looking good, but we still need to expand the AI deck with more options to make sure the game does not get repetitive...

Yes, do you still have the colour templates for the following? I believe they used to be on the yahoo group website, but i am not sure if they are still there.
german cards: 48010CS; 48012CS; 48002CS48004CS; 48006CS; 48008CS48014CS; & 48016CS. russian cards: 48001CS; 48003CS; 48005CS; 48007CS; 48009CS; 48011CS; 48013CS; 48015CS

Just checked the yahoo group, & there is a black & white version of the old cards.
Is it possible to make these available on the KS, or as a download on the 1-48 web page as additional forces? People may like a 3rd faction (Russians) to play as....... Just asking the questions that nobody's probably thought of ,..........yet!

That B&W version was released free as part of the original 1-48COMBAT promotional campaign, together with the 1 page 1.1 version of those rules, as such anyone can use it and distribute it as they like, so I left it on. I would not post it myself just to avoid any further friction with my former associate but there is no reason from a legal or an ethic point of view not to do it. The color version on the other hand is copyrighted, so no can do there... Anyway yes, the main reason I choose the Battle of the Bulge as the opening theater for 1-48TACTIC is that the German characters from the 1st edition can be used together...
