Hi Claudio, Need your lights.
Tonight I settled a table for a fight the ongoing days. The objective is about a seizure of railway station and then exit out of the table, Germans side. For an US squad, how many APs you propose to get? Should I split it in two teams better? For a well balanced fight, since Germans is positioned behind fortifications and sheltering covers by your thinking, which is a likely analogy in figures. I don't want to go with points...

well, if the Germans basically don't need to move and the US squad has to cross the whole table, they may need to be twice as many... alternatively for a more theater-like experience, you can give the US player one or two more AT per turn (or 1 or 2 less to the Germans). probably for the best result you'll need a combination of both, but balance could be tricky to find without trying it out... I'd suggest a quick test game first, with only a couple of figures per side, to get the feeling for it and have some data on the basis of which you can try to balance the full game... in any case sounds like a great set-up, have fun! ...and post some pics for us locked in if you can! Cheers, Claudio

By the way I'm locked too, I have my shops closed for a month now. So, there is enough time for fighting with my figures instead of my wife😜 Imagine that, those paper models I posted, have to be either in quarantine, or in prison to get involved with 😂😂😂, too complicated and tricky. In the subject now, I thought about the same, perhaps could add reinforcements, after some turns. I'm studying the beta rules Company Commander and it gave me the splitting thought in two corporals. Speaking the truth, "halting" in pg 2 confused me, since you refer that nameless MUST execute and then in the same paragraph writes that nameless figures pay 1Ap and halt.
Anyway, I'll follow your suggestion using a small amount to count the possibilities in the beginning and then I'll proceed more determined.

yes, named Characters can choose freely if follow an order or not. (or rather, the player can choose freely if a named character will follow the order or not). Unnamed Characters MUST follow the order unless they are halted. That is, the player must pay 1AT for each and all the unnamed character that he does not want to act on a valid order... Cheers!
