Hi!
Couple of questions about Kickstarter that will start soon:
- I know I like to play only small scale games (like a squad ~ 10 soldiers max) so I have no interest for a whole company of unnamed "plain" soldiers - am I correct that Heroes deck are then "perfect" for me?
- I would like to add some light vehicles to games - will Achtung Panzer rulebook have all the info needed or do I need vehicle card decks along with AP rulebook?
- During Kickstarter will there be info which vehicles will be included in those card decks? (As in preview there is no specific info yet)

Hi! - I know I like to play only small scale games (like a squad ~ 10 soldiers max) so I have no interest for a whole company of unnamed "plain" soldiers - am I correct that Heroes deck are then "perfect" for me? probably correct, really depend on your taste... You may need/want more basic infantry soldiers, you would get only 3 or 4 in the Heroes deck - I would like to add some light vehicles to games - will Achtung Panzer rulebook have all the info needed or do I need vehicle card decks along with AP rulebook? "Achtung Panzer!" include over 20 profiles for the Battle of the bulge and in general North European theater of operation in 1944. For that you'll get everything you need, and many are common vehicles you'll find on many other fronts, like sd.kfz. 251, M2A1 halftrack, jeeps, trucks, etc. You will also get a command car or a scout vehicle in the Heroes deck. But for a complete different front like, say, North Africa in '41, you would really need the Tank deck... - During Kickstarter will there be info which vehicles will be included in those card decks? (As in preview there is no specific info yet) Well, as a general indication, for each tank deck you will get: 1 x scout car (consist of 2 or 3 cards) 1 x light or medium tank (consist of 3 cards) 1 x medium or heavy tank (consist of 3 cards) 1 x tank destroyer, assault gun or spg (consist of 3 cards) 1 x half track, armoured troop transport or AA (consist of 3 cards) 1 x truck (consist of 2 cards) 1 x Anti tank gun or HMG or other carried weapons + crew for BOTH factions in the theater. That plus those in "Achtung Panzer!" (there may be a few overlaps, but will make it at least a different version) should really cover most common options. There will be variation, for example Soviet decks may have a second heavy tank instead of the halftrack... I'm afraid will not be able to give you exact details on the deck contents before I get deep into doing them, so after the campaign has ended, BUT I will certainly keep feedback and requests in mind, so if there is any particular vehicle you want included in a specific deck, just let me know and I'll try to include it

Thank you for quick reply! If there will be East front (Stalingrad) deck available in Kickstarter then I suppose T-34 will be included. And (as a Finnish gamer) I of course hope Kickstarter will get enough funding to "unlock" Winter War deck - then it would be great to have T-26 (even though T-26s were obsolete in late war they were used in Winter War).

Hi, Taking the chance, wanted to ask, Claudio, are you going to sculpt vehicles also? As you already know there is no large variety in the market, on 1/48 scale.

T-34 and T-26 will be there for sure, and if the Finnish Stand-alone deck is unlocked there will be everything, including special Finnish mods of captured vehicles...
sculpting vehicles, no. No plan for that at the moment. There is a pretty good number already available between plastic kits and diecast models... most of the latter are 1/43 really, but the difference is very small and considering the figures are based and vehicles usually are not, tend to look as well if not even better than actual 1/48... they lack detail, something the plastic model kits tend to have plenty of, but have the advantage to come ready assembled and painted, and generally adding some stowage and some weathering is all that is needed to get a very good looking model on the table...
That said we may do AT guns (of which there are really a few available and also too brittle to use for gaming anyway), gun and vehicles crew, and eventually we may do some conversion kit to add detail to diecast models...

Couple more questions about vehicles: - will there be point costs for vehicles (like there is point cost for individual soldiers, for example Dean Stanton costs 6 points etc.) -- if vehicles have point costs will those be comparable with infantry - if I want to play a battle where other side has vehicle + some infantry would that be somewhat balanced if opponent has same amount of points only infantry
- will vehicles have dedicated crew, for example tank crew (so that they would not have ordinary infantry gear and weapons) or would vehicles in game be manned by infantry soldiers - so for example if I would like to get Willys jeep in game would that have also a driver and machine gunner or should I assign for example mr. Dean Stanton to drive the jeep
Sorry to ask so many questions - I have only the core rulebook yet and I have read the AP beta rules. We have played some games with 28mm plastic miniatures and I am planning to expand my model selection to some vehicles and therefore I would like to know these things as I would like to keep my games quite "small" (like squad vs. squad or so but I would really love to add some vehicles without games gettin too big)

point costs for vehicles: yes, as these are theater based and the decks are theater themed. are points balanced: yes, but that is assuming full crew, the cost for which is to be added to that of the vehicle. Thus most vehicles only cost a few points, but on top of 30-40 points of crew. This opens up to some cheese, so for example if you get a tank with only a gunner and co-driver, you'll get a fortified static position with two MGs for about the same cost of the MGs alone... but then you will now be able to deal with an immobilized tank much more easily with all the AT weapons included, so that is a very limited issue, easily over-weighted by a particularly good or bad roll... vehicles have dedicated crew: yes, most of the time. Tanks do of course, and card for these are included. You can use them with basic infantry but their ability to operate them is limited and cost more in terms of AT. Trucks, cars, jeeps etc. can be manned by infantry with no penalty, and of course infantry can be transported on vehicles too... there are rules for all this in the rulebook. The rules are designed specifically to allow you to field a few vehicle and simulate those in detail but still in a fast paced and cinematic way, so you should be good! Quick side note: the kickstarter is starting today at 2.30 pm GMT (That is 11:30 am ADT or 7:30 am PDT in US, 3:30 pm (15:30) in Europe and 10:30 pm(22:30) in Western Australia, so just passed midnight in Sidney)... There is a limited all in EARLY BIRD offer, so make sure to get it before they are all gone!

Many thanks again for quick answers! All about vehicles sounds just great (if there would been PDF version of AP rules I would have bought it but now I think I'll choose printed book with KS than wait for PDF to be published later) You can count me pledging as soon as Kickstarter campaign starts
